Welcome to the Wallace Frost Foundation Blog
Wallace Frost was a 20th century architect whose styles changed with the times.
His houses ranged from From Normandy Tudors in the 1920's and 30's to his California modern international style homes built in the 1950's inspired by the new architectural trend of Modernism. His greatest concentration of homes is in Birmingham, Michigan. My family lived in the last home he built in Birmingham in 1951.
I have visited a few of his other homes in the Birmingham area and have read about the homes he built in California. Some notable owners of Frost homes include talk show host Ellen DeGeneris, NBA basketball star Chris Webber, and the current governor of Michigan Gretchen Whitmer who resides in a mansion that he designed in 1957 for Howard and Letha Sober. I am opening up the blog for comments for those who wish to contribute to a conversation about the architect.
